Daniel Johnston is an American singer-songwriter, musician and visual artist who is regarded as a significant future in lo-fi and alternative music scenes. most of his work consists of cassette recordings and his music is frequently cited for its pure and childlike soul.

Johnston has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. He gathered a cult following when Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain was seen wearing a t-shirt featuring the artwork from Johnston’s 1983 album Hi How Are You. According to Cobain Johnston’s YIP JUMP MUSIC album was in his Top50 albums of all time.
